Do you have a waiting list from year to year?
At this time John Paul II High School does not have a wait list. We will continue to do rolling admissions until such time as a wait list is needed.
What grade levels have openings? There are openings at all grade levels. Each grade can accommodate 300 students. However, it is school policy that John Paul II High School does not accept Seniors from within the Metroplex.
What type of entrance test do students have to take? All new students must take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) unless they are coming from another private school and have taken the exam within the last two years. When the ISEE is not available to be taken, we will accept the PSAT, SAT, or other standardized test scores. The family also has the option to contact a testing center to have the ISEE administered privately.
What foreign languages are offered and when? John Paul II High School offers Latin, Spanish, and French. These courses are available at all grade levels.
Are siblings guaranteed admissions? No, admission is not guaranteed for siblings. Siblings must meet all admissions requirements, as do all applying students. If the sibling meets all admission requirements, they will be given preference over other students if space is limited.
Do I get a discount for having multiple students enrolled at JPIIHS?
At this time we are unable to offer multiple student discounts.
What kind of test preparation course should a student take before applying? There is no test preparation required for the student.
Does John Paul II High School give scholarships? John Paul II High School does not give scholarships. There is limited need-based financial aid available. Families must apply yearly at www.FACTSmtg.com.
How is financial aid calculated? Financial Aid is calculated based on need that is verified by FACTS Management. Once a family has applied for Financial Aid through www.FACTSmgt.com, the Financial Aid committee will make a complete review of the families’ financial resources. Financial aid is distributed accordingly until the funds available are depleted. The earlier the application is made to FACTS the better chance for financial aid funds to be available.
Are Catholics automatically guaranteed financial aid? Catholics are not automatically guaranteed financial aid. Everyone must go through the same objective financial evaluation review and process. The amount awarded from year to year may change according to the funds available and the families’ needs.
What if the student’s parents are separated or divorced? The custodial parent should apply to FACTS.
Who is eligible? Any accepted and enrolled student is eligible to receive financial aid. Once the family makes application to FACTS they will be considered for Financial Aid. The family can make the application during the admissions process. Aid will not be awarded until the student has been accepted for admission into John Paul II High School. How long is financial aid available? Financial Aid is awarded on a year-to-year basis based on need.
Once you receive financial aid is it guaranteed for all four years? No, Financial Aid is awarded one year at a time. Families must reapply each year. When is Financial Aid awarded? The financial aid award process begins in March and is completed by the first of May, or whenever all the funds available are depleted.
How am I notified? Families are notified by mail if they are granted financial aid or not. If they are granted a financial aid award they must respond by a date given that they accept the award, If the family does not respond by the given date than that money is redistributed to another family in need.
