The 5 R’s

John Paul II High School fosters a learning environment built on five core values: Respect, Responsibility, Role Model, Reverence, and Resilience. These values go beyond simple definitions and aim to shape well-rounded individuals prepared for college and life.

Respect

Maddie, a new student, was welcomed by her classmates during a group project. They listened to her ideas and valued her perspective, making her feel included. This respect boosted her confidence, helping her feel like she truly belonged. It was a small act that made a big impact on her experience.

Resilience

After losing a big game, John felt crushed. But instead of giving up, he spent the next week of practice, training harder and learning from his mistakes. His coach reminded him, "Resilience isn't about never falling. It's about how you rise again." In the next game, John led his team to victory.

Responsibility

Sarah took responsibility for missing her project deadline in class by explaining the situation honestly to her teacher. She apologized, worked diligently to complete the task, and learned how to manage her time better in the future.

Role Model

Victoria, a great role model at JPII, doesn’t just talk about respect; she shows it daily by listening, helping others, and making thoughtful decisions. Her actions inspire classmates to follow suit, proving that living by the school’s values creates a positive and supportive environment for everyone.
