JPII Recognized Platinum with Access

This is the second consecutive year JPII has been recognized on the AP School Honor Roll.
John Paul II High School Recognized with Highest Platinum with Access Distinction on 2024 AP® School Honor Roll*

*JPII was recognized on the AP School Honor Roll for two consecutive years.

John Paul II has been recognized on the AP® School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year for promoting a college-going culture, expanding opportunities for its students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness, as well as providing a clear and effective commitment to equitable access to advanced coursework.

Only the top 7% of schools in the country get platinum status.

JPII received the Platinum with Access designation, the highest of the AP® School Honor Roll’s four levels of distinction, for exceeding thresholds in college culture, college credit, and college optimization set by the College Board.

To qualify for the AP® School Honor Roll, schools must meet specific criteria across three categories:

  • College Culture: 40 percent or more of the graduating cohort must have taken at least one AP Exam during high school. For the Platinum designation, this number rises to 80 percent.
  • College Credit: 25 percent or more of the graduating cohort must have scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam during high school. The Platinum requirement is 50 percent.
  • College Optimization: 2 percent or more of the graduating cohort must have taken five or more AP Exams during high school, with at least one of those exams taken in the 9th or 10th grade to ensure that students spread their AP experience across multiple years. For Platinum honors, the minimum requirement is 15 percent.

Congratulations to our students and faculty, as being named to this list is a nod to all of your hard work last year!
