Ways to Give

The simplest way to support JPII is through cash gifts. However, creative gifts of assets can include stocks, bonds, and property (real estate and personal property such as artwork). These can not only provide you with charitable deductions but can also offer additional tax savings.

  • Gifts of Stock, Wire Transfer, or Donor-Advised Fund
    • Individuals, families, and businesses can make tax-deductible charitable gifts directly through a wire, transfer of securities, or from a Donor-Advised Fund. If you have questions or want further information, please email Kristen McCaffery.
  • Cash, Checks, & Credit Card Donations
    • Cash gifts should be hand-delivered to the Advancement office. Checks payable to John Paul II High School may be mailed to the Office of Advancement at John Paul II High School, 900 Coit Rd., Plano, TX 75075. Credit cards are accepted online and maybe the easiest way for many to contribute.
  • A bequest from your Will or Living Trust
    • You can easily make a charitable gift of a specific dollar amount, percentage of your estate/trust, a certain asset or make a charity a “residual beneficiary”. In addition to a very generous charitable gift, your trust or estate receives an estate tax for the action.
  • Beneficiary Designation from a Retirement Plan
    • By designating a charity as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, you support important charitable work and avoid estate and income tax.
  • Charitable Gift of a Life Insurance Policy
    • You can assign whole life insurance policies to a charity and name such charity as the beneficiary. In return for your generosity, you receive a tax deduction for the premiums you paid on the policy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Annual Fund SO important?

The annual Fund represents the most critical dollars for the school’s financial health. It provides unrestricted support so that the school has the flexibility and opportunity to invest these dollars where they are needed most.

Annual giving helps fund every area of the school, including professional development, student services, curriculum development, campus ministry, fine arts, facilities, technology, and athletics. These unrestricted gifts are applied wherever the need is greatest and are essential to the school’s excellence and financial strength.

Doesn't tuition cover all the expenses?

Tuition covers most of the expenses of educating a student, but it does not cover 100% of the cost. JPII relies on the unrestricted gifts of the annual fund to cover the remaining gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student.

How much should I give?

Parents are asked to help fill the gap between what it costs to educate their child(ren) and the tuition they pay. Every gift makes a difference, and the school respectfully asks parents to give what they can. Regardless of the amount, each donation is a statement of support for JPII!

Can I make a more significant annual gift by paying in installments?

Yes! You may make a gift or pledge. If you wish to pay your gift in installments, you may make a pledge and inform us how and when you plan to make additional installments; all pledges are due by June 30 (the end of our fiscal year). For further information on pledges or to discuss arrangements for your gift, please email Kristen McCaffery.

What are matching gifts?

Matching gifts are a great way to increase your annual fund gift. Many companies support their employees giving by matching, and sometimes doubling, their gifts; by matching the donations, these businesses support their employees in their philanthropic efforts. If you company offers this benefit, request a matching gift form from your employee and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will submit the form and complete the process for you.
